ROGII TECH Houston took place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at The Moran Hotel CITYCENTRE in Houston, Texas. The full-day event brought together geoscientists, geosteering specialists and drilling professionals to discuss how AI, geosteering and completions workflows perform in real operations.

What is ROGII TECH?
ROGII TECH is ROGII’s annual technology event series for the geosteering and drilling community. Operators, service companies and ROGII’s team share field cases, lessons learned and the technology behind them.
Houston was the final stop of the 2026 tour, after Oklahoma City, Calgary, Denver, Midland and Neuquén.
What happened at ROGII TECH Houston 2026?
The day started with breakfast at 7:30 AM and three short courses. The afternoon was dedicated to operator talks and a panel, and the day closed with awards, a happy hour and an iPhone raffle.
How is AI being applied to geoscience and operations?
Brent Vering (Peoria Resources), Russell Goodin (Devon) and Tyler Bodine (Validus Energy) joined a panel on AI Applied to Geoscience and Operations. They shared how operator teams are putting AI to work across subsurface and drilling workflows.

A first-principles framework for geosteering
Tanner Linacre (Caturus) and Agustina Jonte (ROGII) presented “Actuals Met Expectations / A First-principles Framework for Geosteering,” which looked at how to compare drilled results against plan and build geosteering decisions from first principles.

How does StarSteer data support completions?
Jessica Jordan, Principal Geologist, presented “Steering Through Structural Risk: Integrating StarSteer Data for Better Completions.” Her talk showed how geosteering interpretation in StarSteer can carry past TD and inform completion design.

How close is AI to a human in geosteering?
ROGII CTO Igor Kuvaev closed the technical program with “AI Geosteering: How Close is AI to a Human?”, which compared AI-driven steering with the decisions an experienced geosteerer makes.

Why ROGII TECH matters to ROGII
ROGII develops geosteering and drilling software, including StarSteer, which is used on 60% of lateral wells worldwide. The challenges and ideas customers bring to ROGII TECH shape what ROGII builds next.
Thank you to our speakers, integration partners and everyone who spent the day with us, and to the ROGII Houston team for making it happen.
